Steve has spent the last several years running growth campaigns for local service businesses, pet groomers among them, and builds the benchmark datasets on this site from public Google listings. About this site

More Pet Grooming Clients is an independent site for people who own grooming salons, mobile grooming vans and one-chair home studios, and who want a fuller book without signing a contract first.

Who writes it

Steve Meitler is the editor. He has spent years running marketing for local service businesses, grooming shops and mobile vans among them, and has watched a lot of groomers get sold lead packages priced for a roofing company. Grooming has a small ticket and a long customer life, and almost nothing written about local marketing accounts for that. This site does, and it is written to be checked.

Where the benchmark numbers come from

The benchmark report is built from public Google Business Profile listings. We run Google Maps searches for grooming businesses in every US state, collect the public fields on each listing (review count, star rating, website link, hours, primary category, location), remove duplicates by Google place ID, and compute the statistics. Nothing comes from behind a login and no personal data is stored, including reviewer names. The dataset currently holds 20,247 listings across 51 states and is refreshed monthly. At that scale some listings are stale or miscategorized, so read every figure as accurate to within a point or two, not to the decimal.

One note on the sample: it leans toward mobile and van-based groomers, because that is the search set it came from. Salon owners should expect their own review counts to run a little higher than the medians here.

Editorial rules

  • No pay-to-play. No product, software or supplier can buy a mention, a link or a recommendation.
  • Every number is sourced, either to our dataset or to a primary source such as Google's own documentation. Where something is an opinion, it says so.
  • Guides are written for an owner who is on the table with a dog for nine hours a day. If a step cannot be done between appointments or handed to a bather, it does not go in.
  • Handling and safety claims stay conservative. We cover how to talk about safety in your marketing, not how to restrain a dog.
  • Guides get updated when the platforms change, and every update is dated.

How the free trial works

The site is funded by the marketing work we do for grooming businesses. We offer every service as a free 14-day trial because a groomer should watch the book fill before paying anyone. You text or call, say what you want to try (Google Ads, Meta ads, AI search optimization, local SEO and profile work, a website, social media, review generation, missed-call text-back, email and SMS, bookkeeping, or appointment setting), and we set it up inside your own accounts, usually within 48 hours. It runs 14 days. No card on file, nothing renews. At the end you keep it at the price quoted before the trial started, switch to something else, or stop.

Text or call (385) 832-6175, or use the free trial page.

Try any marketing service free for 14 days.

Pick anything we do. We run it for your pet grooming business for two full weeks at no cost, then you decide. No card, no contract, nothing to cancel.
